Selecting the Best Variety:

Soil Preparation and Manure:

A blend of loam soil and organic manure in equal proportions creates fertile seedbeds. Regular weeding, collection of bottle gourd leaves, and exposure to sufficient sunlight and air contribute to optimal plant growth. Application of organic fertilizers at the plant’s base ensures proper nourishment.

Implementing effective pest control measures is crucial for maximizing yield. Natural pest control methods, such as installing bird perches, offer sustainable solutions. Additionally, ash or diazinon application protects against fruit fly infestations, while ash or sevin wards off ants. Sex pheromone traps and baited traps effectively reduce pest populations, enhancing crop productivity.

Artificial pollination can significantly boost yield, especially when natural pollination is insufficient. By manually transferring pollen from male to female flowers, individuals can increase yield by 30-35 percent.
